Well there has been a rush in small time entrepreneurs building sites and then having a simple shopping section to sell some of their stuffs. These people are artists, personal motivators, coaches, trainers etc.
We also built a few simple websites and then gave the client an option to sell their stuff. One was an author site selling an ebook and the other was an artist website selling CDs.
On both the cases we used Wordpress CMS with instinct shopping cart for selling those stuffs. The sites we are talking about are:
